The process of generating biomethane / renewable natural gas (RNG) begins with organic material from landfill or feedstock producing biogas. Instead of this gas being released into the atmosphere as greenhouse gas emissions, it can be processed and used as a fuel source. The biogas is extracted, purified, compressed, odorized and eventually injected into the natural gas distribution pipelines as biomethane / RNG to power homes and businesses.
